Army Joint Support Team (AJST) Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) Operations and Analysis Training Developer /Course Developer (TI-CD)


Background: The AJST conducts U.S. Army and Joint Air- Ground Operations education, training, and MCTP in support of joint and military service training requirements for all four Department of Defense (DoD) Services, for U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and for elements in order to provide relevant and ready forces to joint force commanders, capable of conducting joint operations across the full spectrum of conflict.


Job Summary: The MCTP Operations & Analyst Training Developer (MO&ATD) provides realist, performance oriented training curriculum using the approved AJST MTCP program of instruction. The MCTP operations Analyst delivers training in one of the following methods: class room, individual hands on, simulated, during field training, at distant learning locations, in small groups and/or during training exercises. The MO –TD prepares joint training, delivers training, evaluates and assesses student performance, prepares training materials, coordinates training support, establishes the classroom environment, and provides mentorship to students. The MO-TD teaches one or more of the following AJST courses: Joint Air Operations Command and Control (C2) Course (JAOC2C; Air Operations Center Initial Qualifications Course (AOC-IQC); Specialized Joint Aerospace Training (SJAT); Joint Senior Air & Space Staff Course (JSA&SSC); and other classes and courses that are associated with planning and executing DOD air and space capabilities which are supported by the AJST. THE AJST MO-TD must meet training, technical and tactical certification of course content and document experience level requirements of the courses they instruct. MO-TD must maintain competence as members of the AJST and be aware of emerging technological advances in equipment, weapon system, and TTPs.


Qualifications: The AJST MO-TD must possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Secret Security Clearance

  • Major or above, Warrant Officer (CW3 or above), senior NCO (MSG and above)

  • 20+ years of military experience

  • 10+ years joint experience at division or higher level

  • Military experience at the combat arms brigade level or higher

  • Current and thorough understanding of U.S. Army and joint operational doctrine

  • Recent (within five year) combat experience in Afghanistan or Iraq

Desired Skills (preferred) :


  • Observer/Controller at the JRTC, National Training Center (NTC), or other joint venue

  • Participation in joint training exercises or joint operations as a combat arms company/team commander or battalion level or higher primary staff officer/CSM/SGM.

  • Professional behavior enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation

  • Well organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

Education: (Civilian and Military)


  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Limited opportunity to waiver degree – equivalent experience in a directly related field at a rate of 2 years experience for each year of college.

  • Graduate of Command and General Staff College (CGSC); Sergeant’s Major Academy (USASMA); Battle Staff NCO Course or joint force equivalent

  • MEL IV Graduate

Miscellaneous Requirements:


  • Ability to spend extended periods of time travelling

Maintain appropriate level of physical endurance and health to operate in austere tactical field conditions under simulated combat operations and under the life support conditions of the Soldiers in the exercise.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities


  • Will use own judgment in choosing the proper procedure for each task

  • Be a U.S. Citizen

  • Superior customer service focus

  • Computer experience (Word, Power Point, Excel)

  • Prior experience working with/for the US Military, required

  • Ability to speak read writes and understand English
