(AFG-Kabul) Logistics Manager

SUMMARY:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for creating and implementing a uniform process for the efficient flow of material, order fulfillment process as well as all processes and procedures associated with shipping, component repair, warehousing and logistics. The process must align with the requirements to meet financial goals and expectations of the program and support to our customer.




  • Design and implement uniform processes and procedures to maximize efficiency.




  • Create metrics to manage the CDRL deliverables.




  • Conduct Logistics Supportability Analysis (LSA) in accordance with AAR’S Logistics Support Plan (LSP).




  • Assure staff is trained and understands processes and procedures concerning their responsibilities.




  • Provide leadership to improve profit margin, process improvements for assuring efficiency of the program.




  • Implement cost saving initiatives for the group with metrics to support.




  • Develop, in coordination with NATC-A, and implement a publications management mentoring program designed to prepare Afghan personnel to transition to independent publications management processes.




  • Facilitate the identification of problem areas and recommend quality improvement initiatives to promote effective and efficient business operations, processes and practices.




  • Assists in the scheduling of all travel.




  • Promote the mission, vision, and values that AAR has developed in order to maintain a strong relationship with our employees and customer.




  • Manage GFP/E; provide monthly status report




  • Directs warehouse staff to issue and control equipment, materials, and tools.




  • Track and expedite all off-site material and repair of repairable requirements.




  • Ensure material distribution, including all ITAR and EAR requirements, both exporting and importing from the US with regards to spares and repairs.




  • Establish a process for Packaging, Handling Storage and Transportation (PHS&T).




  • Oversee and coordinate all Packaging and Palletizing of material for shipment and transportation.




  • Maintain standard commercial HAZMAT certification requirements for shipping and storage of HAZMAT.




  • Coordinate with the USAF COR on all requirements regarding supporting training.




  • On call and available 24/7 as needed to accommodate for contingencies.




  • All other duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:




  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.




  • Six (6) years of experience in military logistics, contracts, or similar business discipline required.




  • Two (2) years of managerial and leadership experience required.




  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.




  • Previous experience working with ITAR regulations in an OCONUS environment preferred.




  • Experience supporting a Government agency is preferred.




  • Previously held U.S. Security Clearance is preferred.




  • Previous experience with ERP systems preferred.




  • Experience safely carrying and operating a side arm (weapon) required.




  • Required to comply with Rules of Engagement as per DOD Directives, local rules and regulations and company policies.

    WORK CONDITIONS:

    Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed in a warehouse, office setting, or aviation field environment.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


    Must be able to lift and carry boxes and other awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
