(AFG) Special Missions Wing Chief of Staff/G3 (Operations) Trainer
Job Description: The Special Missions Wing (SMW) Chief of Staff/G3 (Operations) The SMW COS/G3 Trainer shall implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of air assets and aviation support personnel. Assist SMW with administering programs to train personnel on aviation planning and tactical operations, G3 Section organizational management, conduct aviation planning and operations training. When necessary coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities, and develop train the trainer classes for the SMW Staff. Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. If required, may use technical experts to assist in training. Candidate will serve as a Team Leader. Team Leads provide support, leadership and oversight for the ANASOC program. The Team Lead shall report to the ANASOC Program Manager (PM) and may interface with COR, TOR, CSTC-A and SOTF-A in Afghanistan, and participate in meetings and conferences as directed by the PM. The Team Lead shall participate in ensuring all elements of program coordination and management elements are met, including but not limited to: ·Monitor training and actively assists or provide direction as needed. o Creating, maintaining and delivering to the ANASOC Program Manager all required reports. o Provide to the ANASOC Program Manager required data/information for monthly performance review and training reports. Required Hours: Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to twelve (12) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites. Responsibilities: ·Train the ANA SMW G3 Officer to plan, coordinate, prepare for, and execute aviation related tactical tasks, synchronize functions among them to include the planning and orders process and continually assess the situation or execution of aviation operations. ·Assist providing training on the Operations Officer tasks IAW Decree 1-3.6, 3-24, 6-22, 6-22.1, 0, 0-1, 0-3.1, 1-3, and 1-3.1. ·Provide the COS and SMW Staff training in the MDMP process. ·Train the G3 SMW Operations Section Staff on aviation integration and coordination of special operations and conventional forces ·Will report to the Program Manager located at Camp Morehead. ·Implement and administer the Train the Trainer program, and then monitor ANA trainer progress. ·Regularly interacts with US military personnel. ·Based on circumstances that are unique to their work locations, trainers will be responsible for making on the scene decisions as to training focus and integration with US military plan for development Required Qualifications: · 8 years military experience with the US Army or Marine Corps with experience as a staff officer at the Division level or higher (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years military experience in one of the following facets of aviation: rotary wing aviation, unmanned aviation vehicles or airborne intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance. ·Must have had an occupational specialty equal to US Army Military 01A (Combat Arms Officer) or service equivalent. ·Must have a minimum experience of 12 months working in Afghanistan, in any military capacity. ·Require Army Command and General Staff College Graduate or Service Equivalent ·Shall have deployed operational experience in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) working at a Task Force or equivalent level in a supervisory role. ·Must be competent with using Microsoft Office ·Must be competent with operating Personal Computer (PC) Skills ·Excellent Leadership, Interpersonal and People Skills ·Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills ·Strong Organizational Skills ·Strong Project Management Ability and Skills Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to start •Must be able to obtain a visa for Afghanistan Physical Requirements/Working Environment: ·Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain. ·Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas. ·Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location. ·Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs. ·Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders. ·Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions. ·Employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment. ·The individual may be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region. Desired Qualifications: ·Prefer Special Operations background, or operational experience with Special Operations forces. ·Prefer former Aviation Brigade S3 ·Prefer candidate to have 10 years of experience at the U.S. Army or Marine Corps Battalion and Brigade or Regimental level. ·It is highly desired that the COS/G3 trainer have at least 3 years of experience in Operational Planning at the Division level or higher or 3 years of experience in a an Aviation Brigade or Regiment. ·Special Operations experience is desired, with combat experience, preferably in Afghanistan. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree & eight (8) years of related experience, OR four (4) years related experience with Master’s degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (14 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders.
