Afghanistan: Project Manager, Girls Education Challenge (GEC)-Afghanistan



  • Plan, execute and finalize project according to strict deadlines and within budget

  • Supervise and monitor project progress and provide clear direction and ensure that staff knows what is expected to them.

  • Acquire resources and coordinate efforts of team members in order to deliver project according to plan.

  • Manage day to day operations of Project Management by facilitating professional work process.

  • Manage risk register, including preparation and submission of a Risk management plan, and a risk action plan.

  • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures across the department in order to get healthy and safety work environment.

  • Prepare informative, timely and accurate technical activity reports from the field that will be incorporated into the overall project reports.

  • Motivate the team to ensure that the team members work effectively to meet project objectives and ensure standard communication framework with the clients.

  • Liaison with donor agencies, different stakeholders and the ministry.

Educational Requirements:Masters in related field. Professional degree in Education is preferable.


Additional Job Requirements:


  • Need to have good understanding of current educational emergency and global commitment

  • Need to have experience in monitoring and evaluation of education projects based on result framework.

  • Should have excellent organization, planning and time management skills.

  • Need to have experience in project management, particularly education projects funded by international donors such as DFID.

  • Have to participate and represent BRAC Afghanistan in different meetings and forums organized by development partners Government and NGO.

  • Fluency in English required with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in people management

  • Ability to work in a challenging environment with poor infrastructure and human capacities and difficult security conditions.

Salary Range: Negotiable
