CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Systems Engineer (SE). This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization OCONUS in Afghanistan.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users. Specifically the System Engineer (SE) will be responsible for supporting systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Windows 2003 and 2008 network with multiple types of servers and server applications. The SE will be directly responsible for the effective and efficient operation and interconnectivity of a Department of Defense Network and will execute the actions required to correct deficiencies or shortcomings and to improve system performance and efficiency. The SE will be responsible for performing and overseeing the management of Windows system administrator functions supporting a global Active Directory (AD) infrastructure. The SE will provide senior level knowledge and Tier 3 support to the customer and their components to include Tier 3 infrastructure, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support that builds, configures, and administers several hundred servers in their area of operation. Additionally, the SE will provide remote support and/or travel to customer servers and sites as required. The ideal candidate will have experience and a strong engineering background in Microsoft Exchange Design, Migration and Implementation.
Requirements:
Be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
DOD 8570 IAM II (CISSP or equivalent)
Must be willing/able to work OCONUS for minimum of one year
Recommend best-practice solutions for server technologies
Provide technical leadership and cross-training to peers in areas of expertise Act as a resource to team members, participates in team and professional meetings
Coaches and provides input as to the needs of Infrastructure staff;
Provide 3rd line technical support as needed
6+ years of experience in Systems Engineering work with demonstrated increased responsibility
Professional and responsible system administration of Microsoft Windows servers
Experience and a strong engineering background in Microsoft Active Directory Design and Domain Name Services (DNS) Microsoft Exchange administration System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007 administration System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007 migration to System Center Configuration Manager 2012
Experience with managing and developing Group Policies Experience with HBSS configuration and troubleshooting
Effective communications throughout all levels of operational command Ability to document system process and architecture
Certifications:
Professional certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570.01. IAM II (CISSP or equivalent)
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Server InfrastructureMicrosoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) in server administration Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) in Exchange
Education / Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (technology field is highly desired) and 4 or more years of software/systems administration experience are required. Associate and two years of additional experience (6 or more years total) is also acceptable. Desired: Top secret clearance Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Server Infrastructure or equivalent certification ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
