Clinical Director, Military Family Clinic - Metrocare Services - Dallas, TX

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
With a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, case managers, and veteran outreach workers, the clinic offers high-quality, evidence-based, and personalized outpatient mental health treatment tailored to meet the specific needs of veterans, particularly those from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and their families.

The Clinic Director will play a critical role in overseeing clinical supervision and development of the Military Family Clinic, as well as liaising with other service providers in the community to maintain partnerships and ensure our services best meet the needs of veterans and their families. Directly Supervises Clinical Positions, the Outreach Manager and Program Coordinator for MFC at Metrocare Services.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (* Other duties may be assigned.)


Oversee all clinic operations (e.g., clinical care, staffing, measurement and evaluation, and financial management)

Provide overall clinical supervision for the MFC staff, including weekly clinical supervision for therapists, crisis management support as needed, and management of a trauma-focused, clinical training program in effective treatment modalities.

Manage intake process for new patients, including supporting intake workers as needed and leading weekly disposition meetings for the clinical team to assign cases and present cases.

Manage relationship with the Cohen Veterans Network central office, including overseeing performance measurement (e.g., clinical and operational outcomes reporting) for the clinic

Support local relationship building and participate in fundraising as necessary to support the clinic

Represent the clinic and at conferences, meetings of service providers within the community, and liaising with other veteran-service organizations at the local and national level to maintain partnerships and share work of the clinic

QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Licensed Clinician including LPC, LCSW and/or Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialized training and expertise in evidenced based trauma treatment.

Experience across a range of modalities beyond individual adult treatment to include child, couples, and family treatment is preferred.

Must have experience treating and diagnosing PTS as well as co-morbid diagnoses (e.g., anxiety), with evidence-based treatments and providing clinical supervision in these areas.

Experience working with a military or veteran population is strongly preferred.

10-15 years of clinical experience is preferred.

Must demonstrate leadership capacity and ability to foster team-building and a supportive, flexible environment.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and reliable.

Operational and management experience is preferred


REASONING ABILITY:
Strong consultative abilities, conflict-resolution skills, and leadership abilities.

Assist in the planning, directing and monitoring the administration and operations of the MFC at Metrocare Services.

On a continuous basis, analyze budget and technical reports; interpret and evaluate staff reports; know laws, regulations and codes; observe performance and evaluate staff; problem solve clinic related issues; remember various rules; and explain and interpret policy.

Assist in the developing and implementation of MFC at Metrocare Services policies and procedures.

Analyze and implement program mandates.

Gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion.

Successfully develop, control and administer departmental budget and expenditures.

Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.

Interpret and apply State and County policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including diverse interest groups including advocacy groups and other governmental organizations.


COMPUTER SKILLS:
Intermediate level on MS Excel, Email and word processing programs


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, TRAINING, REGISTRATIONS:
Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts: Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and/or Clinical Psychologist, PHD PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. Due to the multi-site responsibilities of this position the incumbent must be able to carry equipment and supplies (up to 15 pounds). The position requires standing and/or walking in excess of 7 hours a day.
