Afghanistan: Programme Development Specialist



The primary goal of the job of the Programme Development Specialist is to develop and implement a fundraising strategy to secure revenue for BRAC Afghanistan. To provide technical support/contribution in the areas of programme development and grant making. This also includes direct mail campaigns, writing proposals to obtain grants, securing endowments, and identify sources of donations for specific donor programmes.


Key Responsibilities:


  • · Develop strategies and set goals to strike fundraising targets.

  • · Identify long term funding opportunity for BRAC Afghanistan and finding out the ways of responding to those calls for proposals.

  • · Build strong networks and relations with prospective donors, prepares grant applications and proposals in concert with BRAC affiliate offices.

  • · Maintain all donors and fund development records and maintain liaison with donors.

  • · Facilitate collaborative approach, coordinate with different programmatic staff, develop and submit proposals for fund raising

  • · Generate evidences of BRAC Afghanistan programmes, develop innovative concept notes and facilitate learning & sharing culture within and outside the organisation.

  • · Work closely and coordinate with Research, Monitoring and Communication units in order to profile building of BRAC Afghanistan programmes.

  • · Facilitate the process of engaging with other national & international organisations as a part of consortium building & exploring the potentials of working together.

  • · Ensure supports to colleagues in affiliate offices by responding to their programmatic queries.

Person Specifications:


  • · Outgoing, confident, persuasive communicator.

  • · Excellent writing and speaking skills in English. Excellent presentation skills including multimedia presentations

  • · Excellent time-management and problem-solving skills

  • · Sound understanding on Log-frame

  • · Well capable of exploring information using multiple means


  • · Well known about globally accepted referencing system


    Educational Requirements: in relevant discipline.


    Experience Requirements:


    5 years in relevant field. Prior working experience with other INGOs preferably in similar assignments


    Employment type: Contractual


    Salary: Negotiable
