PAE is currently seeking an Electronic Technician III – Air Traffic Control (ATC) Radar to support our NAMSA Program in our Kandahar, Afghanistan Location. The Electronic Technician III will: – Supervise the maintenance of Radar equipment. – Repair, overhaul, modify ground radar systems including analog-to-digital interface systems such as STRAP, etc. – Isolate malfunctions by prescribed systems checking procedures, visual inspections, voltage checks and other tests using basic and advanced electronic test equipment. – Accomplish organizational and intermediate level equipment modifications according to directive publications. – Assemble, install, and repair antenna systems, transmission lines, and waveguides. – Perform corrosion control inspections and corrective measures. – Ensure maintenance data collection forms, inspections, and maintenance records are accurately completed. – Maintain equipment Facility Records. – Independently verify operational condition of radar and integrated system to be within prescribed parameters in accordance with (IAW) applicable Technical Order/Manual or other directives. – Repair, adjust and align radar and integrated system to pass periodic flight checks. – Repair, adjust, and align interface equipment for radar display in control tower.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of five (5) years of directly related work experience in support of communications electronic systems or equipment that may involve training and assisting lower level technicians. – Must have the technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of electronic systems or equipment. – Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on ATC radar systems and related equipment, inspecting equipment at specified intervals determining operational status, replacing defective components, performing operational checks, and maintaining inspection and maintenance records. – Additional experience maintaining STAR 2000, PAR 2000 or ASR-11 is a plus.
