PAE is currently seeking an Electronic Technician III- METNAV to support our NAMSA program in our Kandahar, Afghanistan Location. The Electronic Technician III- METNAV will: – Supervise the maintenance of METNAV and related equipment. – Perform preventive maintenance on meteorological and navigation systems and equipment. – Use specialized test equipment and software controlled diagnostics to isolate malfunctions. – Replace defective components. – Repair of mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies. – Tune, align, and adjust equipment. – Inspect equipment at specified intervals determining operational status. – Perform operational checks. – Maintain inspection and maintenance records. – Maintain equipment Facility Records. – Repair, adjust and align TACAN, VOR, ILS and integrated system to pass periodic flight inspections. – Independently verify operational condition of METNAV and integrated systems to be within prescribed parameters in accordance with applicable supporting Technical Orders/Manuals, directive or other supporting documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Electronic Systems Technology; OR Completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program in electronics; OR Completion of FAA or U.S. Military school in electronic systems or Electronic equipment. – Minimum of five (5) years of “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of Electronic systems or equipment that may involve training and assisting lower level technicians. – Must have the technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of Electronic systems or Electronic equipment. – Minimum of five (5) years experience performing preventive maintenance on Meteorological/Navigation Aids and related equipment, inspecting equipment at specified intervals determining operational status, replacing defective components, performing operational checks, and maintaining inspection and maintenance records. – Experience maintaining these additional ATC NAVAID Systems is a plus: DME-2020, ILS-2100, MMLS, MPN-23, RCSU-2238, TACAN-2010, TRN-41, TRN-44, and VOR-1150 – Requires an active Secret Security clearance – Valid Driver’s license.
