Groundskeeper Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Facilities Maintenance Manager
The Groundskeeper Supervisor is responsible for supervising and scheduling daily work assignments of assigned groundskeepers. The Groundskeeper Supervisor will be responsible for developing, leading, and managing a productive, motivated, and cooperative workforce. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
DUTIES:
- Develop, lead, and manage a productive, motivated, and cooperative workforce
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of:
- Safety Plan
- Quality Control Plan (QCP)
- U.S. Department of State (DOS) Safety, Health and Environmental Management (SHEM) and Office of Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) polices for groundskeeping services, equipment and materials
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of grounds keeping services, including design layout, install and maintain shrubs, grass and turf, flower beds, organic and inorganic materials, and hardscape, with consideration for water conservations and costs
- Proficient in the use and completion of work orders
- Grass cutting, weeding, mulching
- Removal of grounds keeping trash
- Cleaning equipment use
- Street, drains, walkway, stairs, steps curbs, gutters, fence line and building entryway cleaning
- Preparing outdoor athletic fields and special events areas
- Familiar with Hazardous (HazMat) and trash/waste handling, storage to designated collection points
- Prepare and submit purchase requests for grounds keeping consumables and equipment
Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE:Prefer a minimum of three years’ successful experience, in a grounds keeping and supervisory position.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-national staff and demanding customers
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Possess computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
REQUIRED:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Security Vetting: Must successfully obtain a RSO Security Clearance. Must maintain eligibility at the required security level for the duration of the contract
- Language Skills: Oral English communication skills
- Citizenship: GIROA citizenship
