Technician Telecom Senior Specialist - Lockheed Martin - Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

This position is contingent upon contract award expected in early 2016.

This position is identified as Strategic Review – Aligned to IS & GS.

Position is located in Afghanistan: Technician, Electronics, Senior is responsible for performing maintenance and sustainment activities for the Primary Mission Equipment (PME) and Mission Equipment Packages (MEP), and Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) systems and subsystems. The primary focus for this position will be to maintain system Operational Availability and ensure that information can be collected in the field utilizing the appropriate sensors. This position performs daily inspections and troubleshooting/maintenance of systems.

‘Sample Description of Work Performed: Demonstrates progressively increasing responsibility in installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of communications equipment, electronics equipment. Capability to distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems. Plans and performs installation, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for communications equipment, electronics equipment. Provides technical direction and guidance to lower level technical.

Basic Qualifications Education Level: Graduate of a technical or computer school, with related vendor sponsored training classes.

Minimum Years of Experience: Ten (10) years experience, three (3) of which must be supervisory.

Substitutions: May substitute additional four (4) years of experience for the ”graduate of technical or computer school” requirement.’

NACI required prior to deployment and within 30 days of start date.

Valid passport for at least 3 years.

Ability to read, write and speak English

Familiarly with basic computer skills

Must be able to meet CENTCOM CRC medical minimum standards

Must be able to meet deployment training minimum standards

Must be able to work with customers and subcontractors in a professional manner

Desired skills Ability to multi-task in a complex and austere environment

Experience as part of an overseas military contingency deployment or in Afghanistan
