Military Tactics Instructor/Course Developer - Lockheed Martin - Landover, MD

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Military Tactics Instructor/Course Developer to assist in the training of personnel deploying overseas for the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Deployment Qualification Course (DDQC) in Landover, MD. The selected applicant will: assist in the development of specific blocks of instruction and practical exercises to be incorporated into the course; conduct platform and performance-oriented instruction; mentor students; and interface with other contractors and U.S. Government personnel. This is a full-time position located in Landover, MD. Compensation is based on qualifications, education and experience – negotiable. Basic Qualifications

Combat Stress Recovery Specialist - Wounded Warrior Project - Pittsburgh, PA

The Combat Stress Recovery Specialist position is designed to provide ongoing support and expertise to wounded warriors dealing with invisible injuries through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and overall evaluation of individual warrior needs. The overall goal of the position is to enhance the quality of a warrior’s readjustment and life satisfaction, to promote goal setting for reintegration, and encourage mental wellness through appropriate internal referrals and external resources. The individual has accountability for tracking the warrior’s progress while he or she is enrolled in the Combat Stress Recovery Program (CSR). The position is accountable to the Combat Stress Recovery Manager.

On at least a quarterly basis, the CSR Specialist will work with the Project Odyssey Coordinator to organize a Project Odyssey for warriors dealing with combat stress in his or her region. Project Odyssey is an outdoor recreational program that allows warrior to challenge themselves physically while in a supportive environment that will include the, Combat Stress Recovery Specialist, the Project Odyssey Coordinator, a Wounded Warrior Project Peer Mentor, and a volunteer licensed mental health professional.


Following a Project Odyssey, the Specialist is responsible for following the warriors for up to 90 days. During this time the Specialist will assist the warrior in identifying and achieving personal goals.

Coordinate the integration of support resources to help the warrior achieve his or her readjustment goals with other WWP programs and services, external service organizations, agencies and healthcare facilities

Conduct routine outreach and assessment using specific criteria identified by WWP

Acts as warrior advocate: investigates and reports adverse occurrences

Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources

Mobilizes resources, as needed, to achieve expected warrior goal within the desired timeframe

Complete expanded assessment for attendance of Project Odyssey

Conduct a screening interview to determine appropriateness for Project Odyssey attendance or referral to another program

Assess warrior’s progress in pursuit of goals

Refers cases where warriors and/or family would benefit from counseling or long term support

Enhances a collaborative relationship to maximize the warrior’s ability to make informed decisions

Collaborate with combat stress recovery program manager in development and execution of continued care and achievement of goals

Complete additional training/certifications as dictated by position requirements

Participate in highly physical adventure learning activities including but not limited to, high and low ropes courses, water sports, hiking, climbing, and horseback riding

Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements


Master’s degree required, preferably in a social work, psychology or a related healthcare field and minimum of two (2) years of experience of working with military and veteran’s population or military service-related MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) and assisting military or veteran populations required.

OR


Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a social work, psychology or a related healthcare field with a minimum of four (4) years of experience of working with military and veteran’s population or military service-related MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) and assisting military or veteran populations.

Prefer two (2) years of experience assisting military or veteran populations in support of development and readjustment. Critical to have working knowledge of military and veteran issues, particularly with Iraq and Afghanistan military and veterans.

Position Summary:
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Supports software project management. May develop, select, tailor and deploy software processes, tools and metrics. Performs software research and trade studies. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and/or regulations. Works under general direction. Follows company software standards and processes.


Essential Functions:
Develops, maintains and unit tests code by utilizing software development environments and programming languages in order to implement design and satisfy allocated requirements. Participates in peer reviews.


Develops documents and maintains designs for software consistent with the defined architecture and requirements/regulations by applying established methods and practices. Participates in internal design reviews.


Contributes to building large scale software systems. May lead day to day software integration efforts. Troubleshoots and investigates difficult problems across software components. Evaluates proposed solutions to problems.


Performs architectural trade studies, contributes to the development documentation and maintenance of software architectures. Participates in internal and/or external architecture reviews.


Provides data, recommendations, and estimates for software component level project planning including corrective action plans. May participate in requirement team and peer reviews as a presenter and evaluator. Performs software requirements change assessment and provides a technical interface to requirements change-assessment meetings.


May develop, select, tailor and deploy processes and tools; establish metrics; and utilize regulations and industry standards. May participate in process reviews.


Provides guidance to less experienced employees, performs research, may contribute to proposals, documents research and development results and aids technology transfer into programs.


Provides subject matter expertise to other technical and support personnel. Supports operational and integration issue resolution for specific software systems.


May be client facing engineer who will travel to customer sites directly supporting Company applications.


Performs other duties as assigned.


Typical Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor’s and 5 or more years’ experience, Master’s degree with 3 or more years’ experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or chemistry.


A solid development background


6+ years’ experience with Java EE technologies, 3+ with SOA/Web Services


Experience with Web technologies like HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, ExtJS


Strong Database/SQL Experience with Oracle (or similar), Java Persistence, Object Relational Mapping


Experience in JEE technologies like Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, Web Services, JMS, JAXB


MVC frameworks (Struts/Tiles and Velocity/WebMacro experience is a +)


Preferable experience in Drools 4.x/5.x architecture and use including DRL language.


Preferable experience AOP (JBoss or Spring) and CDI and dependency injection techniques


Good foundation in Object Oriented Programming/Design and familiarity with Design Patterns


Candidate must have a solid understanding of the core components of a framework and the life cycle of core components combined with an understanding of the underlying architecture of the framework.


Experience in utilizing IDE tools such as NetBeans or Eclipse.


Experience using build tools such as; Ant, Maven, Jenkins


Basic Network/Windows/Unix administration


Requires moderate UNIX scripting experience & proficiency.
