Afghanistan: Agricultur/Horticulture Specialist - Short-term Assignment, Kabul

Position:

Period: 3 months

Starting Date: January 17, 2016

Main Objective: ATR is seeking an Agriculture or Horticulture Specialist to participate on a bid to conduct a survey of rural households in southern Afghanistan. Based in Kabul and reporting to the Team Leader, this individual will provide valuable technical input on the survey design and contribute to the analysis of findings.;

Qualifications:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s or higher qualification in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Economics, or related subjects


• At least 6 years of progressive experience in carrying out benchmarking exercises, preferably for agricultural research


• Good understanding of survey research


• Willing to work in partnership with the survey manager, Team Leader, and data analyst to ensure sound technical direction of the survey results


• Proven recent experience managing horticulture developments in difficult environments


• Full proficiency in English


• Proven communications and reporting skills
